The Road to Automation

With the infinite number of possibilities this system enables, the most difficult issue becomes where you should start when trying to build a system of your own. When evaluating your options, it is important to choose a committee that accurately represents your firm or business. It is critical to draw input from members who represent each area to ensure that all departments are properly represented and needs are addressed. Consider using an outside consultant to walk alongside your committee. Whenever possible, try to draw information from industry peers, and attend conferences, meetings and user groups to discuss the possibilities.

When considering systems, understand what your current system provides and what it lacks. Think about what your firm’s wants and needs for the near- and long-term. A system that provides you with flexibility will help to get you where you want to go. Make sure you choose systems that give you the flexibility to define your processes to best suit your needs, not the other way around.

Crossing the Finish Line

The road to automation can be a daunting task, but it also can be immensely rewarding. By taking a thoughtful approach in your plan to automate, you’ll end up with a system that will continue to evolve as you grow and change. Automation will reduce your costs and free up much-needed staff, manager and partner time, providing your clients with better, more efficient service.

In our experience, the time and money you invest in turbo-charging your paperless investment will be repaid many times over by the efficiencies and quality enhancements you gain.
